To ensure that we continue to enjoy living in cities in the coming decades, we need to rethink cities as places to live, work and spend time. The aim is to create livable and sustainable environments that are tailored to people's needs. In the creation of new urban districts, the redesign of our city centers and in individual buildings, digital technologies and data-supported services can change and connect life, living and working in innovative ways. At the same time, data-based solutions must meet particularly high data protection requirements, be perceived as trustworthy and be accepted by citizens. Overall, the integration of digital technologies and the use of data in urban development opens a wealth of new opportunities to make our cities more liveable, sustainable and future-proof.
